Fashion Weekend Giveaway May 13-16th 2010

Last November I posted about the mammoth twice-a-year fashion event, Fashion Weekend.
Unfortunately I had a big operation a couple of days before it and couldn't attend- but this time, I'm strong and healthy and ready to fight other fashionistas to the death for major bargains.

OK- so it might not get violent, but the bargain part is true.

As usual some fantastic designers have signed on to give us, the fashion obsessed, some huge discounts on their gorgeous garments, shoes and accessories.

Designers already confirmed for this year event include:
  • Shakuhachi
  • Life with Bird
  • Camilla
  • Elle McPherson intimates
  • Peeptoe Shoes
And a tonne more which can be found on the Fashion Weekend website at www.fashionweekend.com.au

Just to give you a hint of the bargains, Camilla Kaftans (which were recently worn lived in by Lily Allen on her Summer trip to Australia) are starting from $150.00. That's absolutely insane- I've seen some before in-store that were priced at over $1000.
Elle McPherson intimates will also start from $30.00! Those are just some of the incredible deals you can pick up and with previews like that, I'm sure it's going to be a big weekend.

If you can tear yourself away from the amazing bargains, there'll also be hourly catwalk shows with this season's collections from the likes of Hussy, Little Joe and more.

But, despite the event's name, it's not all about the fashion. Once you've shopped 'til you drop, head over to the NP set makeup bar, the essie nail bar and the Toni & Guy hair salon to grab a new look to match your new outfits or grab a wine at the Tempus Two wine bar.

With all those amenities why not grab some girlfriends, dress in disposable clothes and leave Fashion Weekend completely made up and with a few wines in your tummy and head off into the night? You could set yourself a challenge to see who can pick up the biggest bargains in the shortest amount of time.

Sorry, that sounded extremely competitive. I'm just getting my game face on ready for this event.

Tickets can be purchased on the door, but if you're smart (which I know you are) I'd pre-purchase them online because you then go into the draw to win a $1000 shopping voucher for Fashion Weekend! I'm drooling at the thought. Mmmmm free fashion...

However, there's also a VIP experience which will make your day extra special (I'm quite sure these tickets sold out last year and this year's VIP ticket has even more going for it, so get in quick). The VIP experience includes:
  • Front row seats at the hourly catwalk shows so you can see all the detail up close
  • Free drinks all day in the VIP lounge
  • A gift from Dermalogica
  • A free manicaure from essie
While tickets to the event start at a tiny $20 (for Silver/Fashion Weekend entry only), the VIP experience is only $95. So for $75 more you get what's listed above plus private bathroom, private till (no queuing!) and as well as the Dermalogica gift (which is worth $40), you'll also have complimentary face mapping.
Let's do the math...uummm I think Fashion Weekend are being too generous.

SSssshhhhh! Quick! Before they realise, click here to book your ticket.

Fashion Weekend runs from May 13th-16th at the Royal Hall of Industries in Moore Park.
For those of you not familiar with the area, it's only a short bus ride from Central Station so there's really no excuses for not being able to get there.

Parking is also available (at a cost) in the Entertainment Quarter for those of you who plan on loading up your boots, trailers or big rigs full of glorious, cheap designer items.

I've very kindly been given 3 Sunday passes for this May's Fashion Weekend for a reader giveaway!
To be in the running to win, head to www.fashionweekend.com.au/designers and comment on this post about who your favourite Fashion Weekend designer is and why?

Entry closes on the 7th May 2010 and is open to anyone who can get to Sydney on the 16th May 2010. Good luck!

  3. I love STYD Fashion weekend - I went to the one last year around this time!
My fav designer appearing would be Samantha Wills. Her designs are grand. Things that don't date - yet are still quite fun and can be used with lots of outfits!
    The price is fair too!

    Thanks!

  5. My absolute favourite designer is definitely Therese Rawsthorne - I adore her delicate, unique designs (several of which seems to find their way into my wardrobe every season).

  6. Decided to enter your competition. Just cause.
Fave designer would possibly be Ellery, because her garments are just sex.

  7. Favourite designer out of the list has to be Shakuhachi. I love how some of the garments can be so girly and light, but others can be so fierce at the same time!

  10. Shakuhachi has always been a brand that I have loved but found difficult to find all in one place. Following last month's Paddington flagship store opening, I have become an even bigger fan of the brand than before. I like that it stays reasonably on trend without being a total slave to the international catwalks-- there is originality there. Beyond that I love the brand's strong emphasis on cotton jersey, my favourite fabric, especially when cut into a sexy yet comfy dress!
Can't wait to see what bargains they have on offer at Fashion Weekend.

  12. I would have to say Mink Pink!
    Inexpensive, on-trend and fun!
The fact that it is quite inexpensive means it easily accessible and you can get into a trend and won't feel bad for getting over it in a few seasons!
