Tilkah at Melbourne Central

We all know Melbourne is the sporting capital of the world, and with all their fantastic shopping, they may well be one of the fashion capitals of the world.

Accessories store Tilkah are adding to this concept with the opening of their fifth boutique at Melbourne Central. Following on from the vintage feel at their stores at Chadstone, South Yarra, Preston and High Point, the Melbourne Central store transports you to a place of old world glamour; beautiful jewels and bags amongst a background of dilapidated luxury.

Specially aged Florence Broadhurst wallpaper is handpainted with creeping ivy and 90 year old timber from Melbourne industrial sites complete the antique feel. All the interiors were conjured up by Gary Grimes who worked on film sets for Moulin Rouge, Peter Pan and The Matrix.

While the decor is stunning, the accessories really sell themselves. Using genuine leather, Tilkah is home to a large range of totes, clutches and handbags for every occassion with a very generous pricepoint.

The White Lie bow clutch (pictured below)- which I absolutely DIE for is only $139. It comes in camel, black and chocolate. It also features a shoulder strap so it's perfect for day or night.

Aside from bags you will find jewellery, scarves and wallets.

These days it seems like every brand is copying each other and nothing is every original, but Tilkah really break the mould and give us something new and exciting. Now, the big question is- when will they be opening a boutique in Sydney!?

You can find Tilkah at Melbourne Central, High Point, Chadstone, South Yarra and Preston or online at
